The generosity and commitment of Fobzu supporters to our mission are instrumental in empowering Palestinian students to pursue their dreams of education and a successful future. With the new academic year approaching, we are excited to announce our Back to School Appeal, a campaign aimed at providing vital support to Palestinian students and higher education in Palestine. Past contributions have made a significant impact on the lives of many students, and we very much hope to be able to continue standing with Palestinian higher education during this critical time.

Palestinian students and academics face numerous obstacles in accessing quality education due to the harsh realities of the Israeli occupation and its impact on everyday life. The ongoing restrictions on movement, military checkpoints, and raids on campuses create immense challenges for students and their teachers, making it difficult for them to attend classes in safety and access the education that many others take for granted.

Stand in solidarity with Palestinian students

The support provided through our Back to School Appeal will enable us to address these pressing needs. Here's how these contributions make a difference:

• Scholarships: vital assistance to students in financial need wanting to study at Birzeit University or in Gaza
• Building links between UK & Palestinian higher education: furthering academic collaboration and challenging the siege on Palestinian universities imposed by the occupation through workshops and UK-Palestine Academic Links (PALS) Travel Fellowships.
• Academic Development projects: supporting Palestinian academic research and teaching through our Fobzu-Oxford University MEC Writing Residency and other initiatives.
• Advocacy & Awareness: about the barriers to Palestinian education under occupation and in exile and how toensure they’re lifted.

All support means the world to us and to the students we serve. We are also delighted when supporters share this appeal with friends, family, and colleagues; helping us spread the word and amplify our impact in supporting Palestinian students.
