Fobzu-Ahdaf conference on Israeli settlements
On Tuesday 10 November, our Fobzu-Ahdaf scholarship students organised a conference at Birzeit University about the reality of Israeli settlements in the West Bank and ways to address settlement expansion. Speakers included Akram Atallah, a researcher specialising in political and economic issues; Ghassan Daghlas the Palestinian Authority officer in charge of the Israeli settlement file in the northern West Bank; Palestinian filmmaker Mohammed Attar; Dr Haidar Eid, Associate Professor in the Department of English Literature at Al-Aqsa University in Gaza (via video); Palestinian activist and advocate of non-violent resistance, Bassem Al-Tamimi and his daughter Ahed Tamimi.
